Convener’s Message
ಪ್ರಿಯ ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರೆ,
ನಾವು ಹುಟ್ಟಿ, ಬಾಳಿ ಬೆಳೆದ ಕನ್ನಡ ನಾಡು ನುಡಿಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸಲು, ಕನ್ನಡ ಸೇವೆ ಮಾಡಲು, ಕನ್ನಡ ನಾಡಿನಲ್ಲೇ ವಾಸವಾಗಿರಬೇಕೆಂದಿಲ್ಲ. ಅಪ್ಪಟ ಹೊರನಾಡು ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರಿಂದಲೂ ಇದು ಸಾಧ್ಯವೆಂಬುದನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸಿಕೊಡುತ್ತಿರುವವರು, ವಿಶ್ವದ ನಾನಾಕಡೆ, ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಂಘಗಳನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿ, ಆಗಾಗ ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಮ್ಮೇಳನಗಳನ್ನು ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಅನಿವಾಸಿ ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರು. ಇಂಥಹ ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಂಘಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದಾದ “ನಾವಿಕ” ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ, ಈ ಬಾರಿ ತನ್ನ ೩ನೇ ವಿಶ್ವ ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಮಾವೇಶವನ್ನು, ಅಮೇರಿಕಾದ ಉತ್ತರ ಕ್ಯಾರೋಲೈನ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ರಾಜಧಾನಿಯಾದ ರಾಲೆ ನಗರದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್ ೪ ರಿಂದ ೬ ರ ವರೆಗೆ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ವಿಚಾರ ತಮಗೆಲ್ಲ ತಿಳಿದೇ ಇದೆ. ಅಮೇರಿಕಾದ ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರಿಂದ, ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರಿಗಾಗಿಯೇ, ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರೇ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿರುವ ಈ ಬೃಹತ್ ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಮಾವೇಶದ ಸಂಚಾಲಕತ್ವವನ್ನು ಈ ಬಾರಿ ನನಗೆ ವಹಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಇದು ಅಷ್ಟೊಂದು ಸುಲಭದ ಕೆಲಸವಲ್ಲವೆಂಬುದು ನನಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತು. ಸಹಜ ಸ್ವಾಭಾವಿಕವಾಗಿ ಇದು ಒಂದು ಸವಾಲೇ ಆಗಿದ್ದರೂ, ಕನ್ನಡ ಸೇವೆ ಮಾಡಲು ನನ್ನ ಪಾಲಿಗೆ ಬಂದಿರುವ ಒಂದು ಸುಯೋಗ, ಸದಾವಕಾಶವೆಂದು ತಿಳಿದು, ಈ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಯನ್ನು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ವಿನಮ್ರತೆಯಿಂದ ವಹಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ನಿಮ್ಮೆಲ್ಲರ ಸಹನೆ, ಸಹಕಾರ, ಸಹಯೋಗಗಳಿವೆ ಎಂಬ ಆತ್ಮವಿಶ್ವಾಸವೇ ಈ ನನ್ನ ಮೊಂಡು ಧೈರ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾರಣ. ಸಮಾವೇಶ ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾದರೆ, ಆ ಸಂತಸದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮಗೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಪಾಲು ಇದೆ. ತಪ್ಪುಗಳಾದಲ್ಲಿ, ಅವೆಲ್ಲವೂ ನನ್ನ ತಲೆಯ ಮೇಲಿರಲಿ. ಹಂಸಕ್ಷೀರ ನ್ಯಾಯದಂತೆ, ಹಾಲನ್ನು ಮಾತ್ರ ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಿ, ನೀರನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ಪಾಲಿಗೆ ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಬಿಡಬೇಕಾಗಿ ನನ್ನ ಕೋರಿಕೆ.
ಈ ಸಮಾವೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ, ನಮ್ಮ ಕನ್ನಡ ಭಾಷೆ, ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿ, ಕನ್ನಡ ಸೊಬಗು-ಸೊಗಡು, ಬೆಡಗು-ಬೆರಗು, ಹಿರಿಮೆ-ಗರಿಮೆಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಂಬಿಸುವ ಹಲವಾರು ವೈವಿಧ್ಯಮಯ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಹಮ್ಮಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಯಾವುದೇ ಒಂದು ಸಮಾವೇಶ ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಬೇಕಾದರೆ ಅದು ಒಂದು ಮೃಷ್ಟಾನ್ನ ಭೋಜನದಂತಿರಬೇಕು. ಈ ಕಾರಣದಿಂದಲೇ, ಸಮಾವೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೆರವಣಿಗೆ, ಚಿಂತನೆ, ಚರ್ಚೆ, ಅಧ್ಯಾತ್ಮ, ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ, ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆ, ಕ್ರೀಡೆ, ನೃತ್ಯ, ನಾಟಕ, ಗಾಯನ ಎಲ್ಲವೂ ಇದೆ. ಇಷ್ಟು ಮಾತ್ರವೇ ಅಲ್ಲ, ವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ವಿಷಯ, ಉದ್ಯೋಗಾವಕಾಶ, ಬಂಡವಾಳ ಹೂಡಿಕೆ ಮುಂತಾದ ವಿಚಾರ ಸಂಕಿರಣಗಳಿಗೂ, ಮನ ಮಂತನಗಳಿಗೂ ಈ ವೇದಿಕೆ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯಾಗಲಿದೆ. ಇವೆಲ್ಲವನ್ನು ನಡೆಸಿ ಕೊಡುವವರು ಅಮೇರಿಕಾದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಅನಿವಾಸಿ ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರು ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲದೆ, ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಿಂದ ಹಾಗೂ ದೇಶ ವಿದೇಶಗಳಿಂದ ಆಗಮಿಸಲಿರುವ ಖ್ಯಾತ ಸಾಹಿತಿಗಳು, ಕಲಾವಿದರು, ವಿದ್ವಾಂಸರು, ಚಿಂತಕರು ಮತ್ತು ಗೌರವಾನ್ವಿತ ಗಣ್ಯರು. ಇವರೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಆದರಣೀಯ ಸ್ವಾಗತವನ್ನು ಕೋರುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇನೆ.
ನಾವೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಸೇರಿ ಕನ್ನಡದ ತೇರನ್ನು ಮುಂದಕ್ಕೆ ಎಳೆಯೋಣ. ಎಲ್ಲ ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರ ಅಭಿಮಾನದ ಹನಿಗಳು ಕೂಡಿ ಹಳ್ಳವಾಗಲಿ, ಈ ಹಳ್ಳಗಳು ಸೇರಿ ಹೊಳೆಯಾಗಲಿ, ಹೊಳೆ ಹರಿದು ಕನ್ನಡವೆಂಬ ಸುಂದರ ಸಾಗರವನ್ನು ಸೇರಲಿ. ಎಲ್ಲ ಭಾಷೆಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸೋಣ, ಆದರೆ ಕನ್ನಡ ಭಾಷೆಯನ್ನು ಆರಾಧಿಸೋಣ. ಎಲ್ಲೇ ಇದ್ದರೂ, ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರಾಗಿ ಬದುಕೋಣ; ಕನ್ನಡದ ಕಂಪನ್ನು ಹರಡೋಣ. ಆ ಕಂಪಲ್ಲಿ ಆ ಇಂಪಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡತನವನ್ನು ಮೆರೆಯೋಣ. ಆದುದರಿಂದ ಬನ್ನಿ, ಒಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಸೇರಿ ಕನ್ನಡದ ದೀಪವನ್ನು ಹಚ್ಚೋಣ, ಕನ್ನಡದ ಕೀರ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸೋಣ, ಕನ್ನಡಾಂಬೆಯನ್ನು ಮೆರೆಸೋಣ.

Our strong association with Carolina Kannada Balaga – Charlotte, Sampige Triangle Kannada Association and Triad Kannada Association in North Carolina along with unwavering cooperation from the several Kannada Kootas including South Carolina, Georgia, West Virginia, Virginia, New York, New Jersey, Albany, Washington DC, Maryland, Delaware, Pittsburg PA, Toronto, California, Florida, Arizona, Texas, Ohio, Indiana has made it possible for us to form a very enthusiastic and dedicated team of talented volunteers to execute this prestigious mega event effectively and efficiently.
