Participation Rules

  1. NAVIKA APSARA is NAVIKA’s beauty pageant. The contest will select Apsara Princess, Apsara Queen and superlative titles: Most Photogenic, Most Beautiful and Most Talented.
  2. This contest is open to ladies between ages 18 and 39 yrs, under two age groups – ages 18-26 years and 27-39 years. There are no restrictions to the marital status of the contestant.
  3. The contest may be spread out for two days, if the number of participants is large. Contestants selected for the semi-finals will be competing in cat walk, talent, and interview segments.
  4. Contestants are responsible for their own costumes and makeup. However, if there is enough interest, we can arrange for hair/makeup artists at a nominal fee.
  5. All semi-finalists and finalists must uphold a pleasant, professional and decent demeanor at all times while participating in the NAVIKA Apsara Pageant.
  6. All semi-finalists need to be registered for the Sammelana.
  7. The NAVIKA Apsara decisions and scoring are final and binding.
  8. All contestants must fill out the application form and pay a non-refundable and non-transferable Entry Fee of $20. If selected for the semi-finals, they must register for the NAVIKA Raleigh World Kannada Summit to participate in semi-finals and finals.
  9. After submitting the application form, the contestants will receive an email confirmation along with a request to submit their portfolio by July 31, 2015. The portfolio must contain the following –
    • One casual close-up
    • One traditional photo in Indian outfit of full-length (Saree/Ghagra/Salwar)
    • **One video clip of up to 2 minutes telling us WHY you are special. You may include facts of your life like how you made a difference in your community, your hobbies, your special skills, impact on your friends and family, etc.
  10. All materials submitted are the property of the NAVIKA World Kannada Summit Raleigh 2015 organizing team and will not be returned. We reserve the right to use materials from semi-finalists for promotional purposes.

  12. We reserve the right to modify or cancel the pageant due to unforeseen circumstances and situations beyond our control.

**The video will be used in selecting contestants for the semi-finals and also selecting the People’s Choice Award, after the semi-finals selection. The video clips need to be sent to Navika Apsara committee by means of Drop Box
